You and I Wanderer I, wanderer you, This has been the story for ages. Moment by moment, grain by grain, The world’s ways are charming stages. We meet by coincidences, And through them, we part here. In the making of these chances, Our own conduct must steer. Since we gained life, We have become somewhat aware. Understood a bit about the world, And our minds became somewhat clear. At the time of making decisions, Personal interest deepens in the mind. When thought of everyone’s welfare, We often found ourselves in a bind. From the world's deeds, it seems, Self-interest outweighs altruism. Maintaining balance here, Is our solemn responsibility, our prism. When we meet by chance, We stay together for some time. Share and listen to a few words, And then move on to new climbs. Some things we like, Some things we resent. From whatever experiences we gather, Life’s maturity is what we augment. Some grievances occur, Some laughter and teasing fill our days. From these colorful emotions, The tapestry of life is set ablaze. Everyone has their own experiences, friends, Which seem unique and profound. Some express these in songs, Some endure silently, sound. You and I, our life, Must be lived with compromises and grace. If there are a hundred ways to fall, There is a narrow staircase to embrace. There are many excuses to fight, From which the world suffers a lot. If we see everyone like ourselves, Then life’s battles are better fought. When personal interest grows too much, Nature restores balance true. Even from the darkness of thoughts, It lights up life’s flame anew.
